Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Original WWII inert M7A1 practice rocket for the U.S. WWII 2.36 inch M1 / M1A1Bazooka. The 2.36" rocket consists of a head, a stabilizer tube, and tail. The head of the practice rocket is totally inert and complies with standards outlined by ATF. Not available for export.
The inert rocket measures approximately 22 inches long and still has most of the original all black paint job on the warhead, stabilizer tube, and fins. There are some maker markings stamped on the bottom of the warhead, but they are not ones that we recognize. The original ROCKET. PRAC.; A.T. M7A1 markings on the warhead are still present, though the lot number below it is unclear, so we cannot read the production date. There is definitely paint flaking and rust on the rocket, and the tip has paint loss around the widest point, so this looks to be a practice rocket that was actually used.
The M6A1 was the second projectile designed for the M1 and M1A1 bazooka family. The original M6 was notoriously unreliable, both with the launch and detonation. The M6A1 had improved fuze and ignition designs to help get rid of this problem. The M7A1 was also made as an inert practice round, and the design was the same except for the inert hollow warhead.
A great display piece from the WWII Era!
