Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This very USMC Modified Camouflage Utility Uniform featured on page 308 Sailors in Forrest Green; USN Personnel Attached to the USMC (U.S. Navy Uniforms in World War II Series) by Jeff Warner. In fact this jacket was purchased by IMA from the estate of Mr. Warner along with much of his personal collection.

USMC modified camouflage utility coat. The non-camouflage modified utility coat was very similar to the design of this garment but was not issued in large numbers until nearly one year later. The distinctive side entry pocket flaps. integral rear pocket and waistband suspender grommets are some of the features of the modified camouflage utility trousers. USMC modified camouflage utility trousers. The addition of the large rear seat pocket, side entry pockets with snapped flaps and a button, rather than snap fly made these trousers a radical design departure from the unmodified camouflage trousers. Unlike the coat, the design of the non-camouflage modified utility trousers only bore a vague resemblance to this garment. (J. Warner)
