Original U.S. WWII Model 1939 American Service Shoe Low Boot - Size 8½C

Item Description

Original Items: Only One pair Available. Known as the Model 1939 American Service Shoe these low quarter boots were also called walking out boots by USGIs. These were standard issue to US troops serving in the Army and Air Force at the start of the WW2, eventually replaced by the rough-out boot. This pair in excellent wearable condition boot is made from russet brown leather with leather toe cap and a two piece stitched-in rubber sole. Worn in combat with the M1938 leggings, these boots were also popular off-duty.

The inside of the boot is marked with a laundry number, S-6336. The laces are in good shape but show some fraying. The soles are in great shape and are made by Goodyear. Overall condition is very good. These are a small bit different than other 1939 boots we have seen, but they are certainly WWII. Interestingly, the size is perforated into the tongue of one shoe.

This is a great set of very scarce WWII Boots, ready for further research and display!
