Original Item: One-of-a-kind. Lieutenant Commander T. C. Pennock was Captain of the ship LST-792 - FLOTILLA 29 - GROUP 86 - DIVISION 172. This ship was a tank landing ship that participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. LCDR Pennock gained command of the ship on December 14, 1945 and was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East until the ship was Decommissioned on 29 April 1946.
This fine World War II United States Coast Guard officer visor hat features a fins metal cap badge, patent leather strap and visor. Inside is an original manufacturer’s label. Construction materials include: Wicker, punched leather, patent leather, silk ribbon, plated brass, paper, cellophane. The cap shows no major defects and is in overall very good condition with slight discoloration in spots and some wear. Hat size is a US 7 1/8.
