Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. World War Two USN Sperry Mk 14, Mod 8 Gyroscopic Gun Sight used specifically in gunner positions of various Battleships, Destroyers, Cruisers, and other vessels! Manufactured by the Crosley Corporation this Gun Sight was for the Ww2 US Navy 40MM Bofors Anti-Aircraft Gun. The pneumatically-driven, gyroscopically-stabilized Mark 14, Modification 8, Gun Sight, was mounted on 40MM Bofors Anti-Aircraft guns on fighting ships of the US Navy during WWII. The spinning gyro stabilized the illuminated reticle that appeared in the sight window as the gunner aimed at oncoming aircraft, thereby overcoming the tossing and rolling movement of the ship to which the gun was mounted.
