Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This wonderful ring is a U.S. Serviceman's souvenir from their time in World War Two. These were made in the field, and came in all shapes and sizes. This particular ring was made from a UNITED STATES HALF DOLLAR, which can still be read on the interior of the ring. It is not a flat circular band, but instead has a very nice undulation.
The outside of the ring has some leaves engraved in between BOUGAINVILLE and BUKA, two islands that were involved in the Bougainville campaign, which lasted 1 November 1943 – 21 August 1945. It was part of Operation Cartwheel, the Allied grand strategy in the South Pacific.
A Great WWII souvenir from the Pacific Theater, ready to display!
