These are genuine World War Two dated 40mm Bofors gun rounds in a clip. Each round bears a 1945 date on the base, and 3 of four have dated paint stamps on the casing sides as well. The projectiles are marked but we were not able to make any dates. The projectiles are painted to show a range of different types of fuzes and explosive charges. Each projectile measures approximately 17 3/4" long. The clip the rounds are in is a U.S. NAVY BU. ORD. marked example, dated 1944 inside the maker logo.

The Bofors 40 mm gun, often referred to simply as the Bofors gun, is an anti-aircraft autocannon designed in the 1930s by the Swedish arms manufacturer AB Bofors. It was one of the most popular medium-weight anti-aircraft systems during World War II, used by most of the western Allies as well some captured systems being used by the Axis powers. A small number of these weapons remain in service to this day, and saw action as late as the Persian Gulf War.
