  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is what we've all been waiting for! A real U.S. Browning M2HB .50cal Display Machine Gun, complete with an original USGI M3 tripod and some great accessories! This fantastic example is built around a BATF approved dummy receiver, made with an original barrel trunion, with attached replica side plates, top cover, and other components. It was recently set up as a "gas gun", and has electronic components mounted inside, however we have no idea if the gas system is operable, and it is not being sold for that use. The barrel is 100% original and live, and can also be easily removed from the display receiver. The top cover still opens, the trigger still moves, and the sights do as well.

The receiver has a lovely gray parkerized finish, well retained overall, and is fitted on the right side with a cocking lever in the proper "retracting slide", which are all original USGI components. Additionally, the barrel has been fitted with the correct carry handle, really adding to the look.

This "Ma Deuce" comes complete with an original WWII Style M3 Tripod, which has the correct pintle and T&E with it as well. The M2HB is STILL the heavy machine gun of choice for the U.S. military, as well as many other militaries around the world, so these tripods are still in service, which is one of the reasons they are so hard to find. Like other examples we have seen, it takes a substantial amount of force to lock the crosspiece into the latch on the right leg.

Also included are two original .50 cal steel ammo cans, a 40 round disintegrating belt with dummy .50 cal cartridges in it, and a battery with connector lead. These all fit nicely inside the ammo cans, so they can be displayed or kept in storage. There is also a length of hose that was originally to be used with the gas system.

A fantastic opportunity to own a BATF approved inert display gun of one of the most enduring machine gun designs in history! Ready to display!

The M2 machine gun or Browning .50 caliber machine gun (informally, "Ma Deuce") is a heavy machine gun that was designed towards the end of World War I by John Browning. Its design is similar to Browning's earlier M1919 Browning machine gun, which was chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. The M2 uses Browning's larger and more powerful .50 BMG (12.7 mm) cartridge. The design has had many designations; the official U.S. military designation for the current infantry type is Browning Machine Gun, Cal. .50, M2, HB, Flexible. It is effective against infantry, unarmored or lightly armored vehicles and boats, light fortifications, and low-flying aircraft.

The gun has been used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the United States since the 1930s. It was heavily used during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, the Soviet–Afghan War, the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and the War in Afghanistan. It is the primary heavy machine gun of NATO countries and has been used by many other countries as well. U.S. forces have used the M2 longer than any other firearm except the .45 ACP M1911 pistol, which was also designed by John Browning.

The current M2HB (heavy barrel) is manufactured in the U.S. by General Dynamics Ohio Ordnance Works, and U.S. Ordnance for use by the U.S. government, and for allies via Foreign Military Sales, as well as by foreign manufacturers such as FN Herstal.
