Original U.S. WWII Unopened and Sealed Harley-Davidson WLA “Liberator” Blackout Headlight Lamp Assembly - Mfg. No. HRD-4909-42

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Now this is a great piece of Harley-Davidson and WWII history! This is a wonderful LAMP-UNIT, blackout headlight, sealed beam for the Harley-Davidson WLA. The Harley-Davidson WLA is a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was produced to US Army specifications in the years during and around World War II. It was based on an existing civilian model, the WL, and is of the 45 solo type, so called due to its 45-cubic-inch (740 cm3) engine displacement and single-rider design. It acquired the nickname "Liberator"

Blackout lights are head and tail lamps that are equipped with special lenses that are designed to cast a diffused horizontal beam of light for the driver of the vehicle to navigate with, and drivers of other vehicles to spot the vehicle with. In the military, they are intended for use when driving a convoy at night when it is necessary for the vehicles to maintain concealment by limiting their ability to be seen by the enemy.

This os a wonderful opportunity to add a great headlamp to your collections. Perfect for a Hog restoration project or to display!
