Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a wonderful example of a WWII US Army 3rd Infantry Division “Ike” jacket, which includes a lovely matched flannel shirt, pants and dog tags. The jacket features fantastic insignia, awards and devices, a perfect set for the WWII collector!

The Eisenhower jacket or "Ike" jacket, officially known as the Jacket, Field, Wool, Olive Drab, is a type of waist-length jacket developed for the U.S. Army during the later stages of World War II and named after Dwight D. Eisenhower. Intended to be worn on its own or as an insulating layer beneath the M-1943 Field Jacket and over the standard wool flannel shirt and wool sweater, it featured a pleated back, adjustable waist band, fly-front buttons, bellows chest pockets, slash side pockets, and shoulder straps.

The jacket features a beautiful 3rd Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia on the right and a bullion embroidered SHAEF patch on the left shoulder. The collar features a US collar disc and crossed rifles disc. The left breast has a beautiful Combat Infantryman Badge just above an array of ribbons for the EAME (4 Stars), Army Good Conduct and Purple Heart.

A lovely uniform set that comes more than ready for further research and display.
