Original Items: Only One Lot of 2 Available. The only good thing about a war is that they eventually come to an end. America and her allies were victorious in what some call the two “Good Wars” —World War I and World War II—ticker tape parades, elaborate welcome home events for our soldiers and the generals who led them, and often riotous celebrations followed.

Flags and banners like these two examples were seen being displayed everywhere from houses, businesses, gas stations, places of worship, you name it. Americans were proud of the men and women who put their lives on the line in the defense of others and messages like “Welcome Home” were appreciated by the servicemen and women. Just those small two words meant the world to those who were gone overseas away from home.

The larger banner measures 56” x 37” and is very patriotic in design and constructed similar to an American Flag, with “Stars and Bars”. The flag/banner bears the message “Welcome Home” in the center on blue with white stars running the length on both sides. The smaller banner is an American Legion banner which displays the message “WELCOME HOME BUDDIES” on the front with a “Ruptured Duck” insignia in the center.

Both pieces are in lovely condition with minor fading and tearing. These were flags that were displayed and flown well into the end of the Occupational era of both Germany and Japan after 1945 and the condition reflects that.
