Original Vietnam War Army of the Republic of Vietnam South Vietnamese Army Uniform and Insignia Recognition Posters - 2 Posters 20” x 14”

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Lot of 2 Available. The Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN; Vietnamese: Lục quân Việt Nam Cộng hòa; French: Armée de la république du Viêt Nam) were the ground forces of the South Vietnamese military from its inception in 1955 to the Fall of Saigon in April 1975. It is estimated to have suffered 1,394,000 casualties (killed and wounded) during the Vietnam War.

South Vietnamese military ranks and insignia was used by the Republic of Vietnam Military Forces, specifically the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force. Originally based on French ranks, the ranks were changed in 1967 to resemble US ranks more closely.

These two posters both measure at 20” x 14” and are in great displaying condition. One of the posters is for enlisted ranks, and you can see that they were very similar to the rank structure of the US Army, but lower enlisted chevrons were upside down. The other poster is for Officers and shows the collar insignia for each rank.

These are both wonderful, seldom seen examples of ARVN posters. Comes more than ready for further research and display.
