Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a Cold War/Vietnam War-era U.S. Navy MK76 Practice Bomb, a tear drop shaped 25-pound bomb with a spotting charge that releases a cloud of smoke on impact. The MK76 is used to simulate the 500LB MK 82 bomb in low drag configuration. It is a small cast-iron and steel non-explosive ordnance that is used in training to simulate actual bombs. These training munitions, by design, have similar flight and delivery behavior to war shot munitions.
This example is still has original blue paint, signifying that it is an inert trainer, and still has much of the original stenciled markings present. There is some wear and oxidation due to paint loss, but it still looks great. Measures approximately 25 inches long and 4 inches diameter.
