Original Item: Only One Available. Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic First World War French Army medical officer kepi. Very nice example with rich wine-red velvet band. The side buttons exhibit the caduceus worn by medical officers. Rare. French maker displayed on the interior crown. Underside of visor is embossed J.F. in gold print. Shows some separation from sweatband and body of the kepi. Velvet of the band is worn. Features a brass "B" button to the front which we believe was unit insignia. Overall condition is good.
This is the lower height style kepi they first started using after phasing out the floppy or "bummer" type kepis. This style was only worn for a short time during WWI.
