Item Description
Original Item: One Only. This is extremely unusual item, very rarely seen today. The early 20th century was when wrist watches first gained popularity, as the ability to make movements small and robust enough for that use had not existed previously. Here we have a very nice private-purchase officer's 'Trench Wrist Watch', with a great steel shrapnel guard to protect the dial. Most likely made about 1915, it is still in fine working order, and comes with the original leather wrist guard, though the securing band looks to be a modern replacement.
There are no markings whatsoever on the watch, so it could be of British, French, German, or maybe even American manufacturer. The body is about 1 1/4" inches wide, and it has a white face with off white numbers in hands. These were possibly originally luminescent, but they do not show any of this anymore. The winder is on the right side as expected and to reset the time a small button next to it is pressed in towards the dial to move the hands.
A Private Purchase Officer's TRENCH Watch from WW1, "still ticking" and in fully functional condition.
There is no warranty for this watch and returns for a non-working watch will not be honored. Please note all watches are wound and tested then recorded on video before shipment. We are not in the watch repair business- ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
