Original WWII and Cold War Military Helmet Lot - Set of 6

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of helmets from various time periods and countries. All helmets are complete with liners and are offered in great condition. This is a wonderful lot to pick up if you are looking to either start collecting helmets or are just wanting to add these really nice examples to your already existing ones.

The following helmets are included in this lot:

- British MkII 1942 Brodie helmet: The reason why this helmet is painted gray is because it was outfitted for use by a Dutch Fire Department in the Netherlands. This does not appear to be a cloned version of the British MkII, but it was in fact used by the Dutch. The helmet features a nice light gray paint, inside and out, and is in great condition with only minor surface rust. The liner is complete and still has the leather neck guard apron which attaches to the inside of the helmet liner band. The liner appears to be complete and undamaged. The chinstrap is complete and still retains its elasticity.

- British MkIV “Turtle” Helmet: The MKIV Helmet acted as a successor to the MKIII Helmets, instantly recognizable for their 'Turtle' like shape. They were used throughout the 60s and 70s by British Forces. This helmet is date stamped 1952.
The helmet comes with the original chinstrap and complete liner. The name “Barker” can be found written on the underside of the skirt.  Since this was issued, there are many marks and scuffs present.

- Swedish M26 Helmet: This is an earlier produced version of the M26 helmet and does not have the shield on the front, but it does have a crest on both sides of the helmet. The liner is complete, as well as the chinstrap. There is no damage to the helmet but it does show signs of being worn and used.

- American Vietnam War Combat Vehicle Crewman Helmet: The non-ballistic CVC helmet was a lightly padded crash helmet for wear inside all US armored fighting vehicles during the Vietnam era.  This specimen, manufactured by Sierra Engineering in 1966, mounts integrated send/receive electronics emblematic of the advances of radio and intercom communications in the post WWII era. The exterior draw string allows the wearer to snug up the earphone cup allowing a better fit. This helmet provided very good overall head protection for the bumps and jars typical of AFV living. The CVC suspension has components similar to the M1 liner. The OD webbing, "A" washers, and adjustment buckles are typical of the M1, although this suspension is configured quite differently than that of the M1 liner. The manufacturer's label, sewn into the rear of the head band, is very crisp and provides quite a bit of information.  This particular helmet was manufactured in 1966. This is a complete and great conditioned example.

- American M1 Helmet: This helmet appears to have been set up for use in a Post Vietnam Era, around the 1980s. The helmet shell itself is a rear seam swivel bale and sports the vietnam war green repaint. The liner is the correct 1973 dated liner which is correct for this shell. The helmet is complete except for the rear nape strap. It’s offered in excellent condition.

-American M1 Helmet LINER: This 1973 dated liner is painted all black and sports the United States Army seal on both sides. These painted liners were used for ceremonial, parades or guard duty and training purposes. The liner is complete and in good condition.
