Original WWII Era Italian Model 35 Style Inert Grenade Cutaway

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a wonderful condition M35 style grenade cutaway. We have encountered numerous Italian grenades though not this type. While it does appear to be a “Red Devil” grenade, we believe this is a clone produced by another country. There are no markings present making this a rather interesting grenade to research.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

When it comes to designing a training program for military personnel, instructors are faced with several challenges. First, unlike athletes there is no off-season, most units are either preparing for deployment, deployed, or refitting from deployment. Secondly, training facilities vary from location to location and often focus on a single task. These tasks may include muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, field craft or marksmanship. Each of the above contribute to the success of an operation, however there is one area of training that is deficient. This deficiency is visual training; visual ability plays a larger role in achieving optimum performance than most military personnel realize. The goal of integrating visual training into an already packed curriculum is not to dilute it but to improve tactical performance.

This would have been important in training the military on how this type of grenade functioned. If this is a clone, then this cutaway would have been most likely used upon integrating the “new” grenade into their arsenal. The cutaway gives the viewer a great look on the internal structure of the grenade. It shows the internal charge cavity colored yellow (wood) with a copper blasting cap tube in the center. There is no fragmentation sleeve present so this grenade may have been a percussion type defensive grenade.

A lovely example that presents itself without any extensive damage. Comes more than ready for further research and display.
