    ENSIGN ROBERT ALLEN CLARK, UNITED STATES NAVAL RESERVE
    for service as set forth in the following

    CITATION:
    "For distinguishing himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flights in operations against the enemy from 16 February 1945 to 19 May 1945* As pilot of a carrier based fighter plane he participated in twenty combat missions in the vicinity of the Tokyo, Kure, and Kyushu areas of Japan, the Nansei Shoto, and the iranpo Shot°. During these flights he performed his assigned duties with courage and determination which were at all times inspiring and in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service,"

    The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the GOLD STAR in lieu of the Eighth Air Medal to
    LIEUTENANT ROBERT ALLEN CLARK, UNITED STATES NAVAL RESERVE
    for service as set forth in the following
    CITATION:
    "For meritorious achievement in aerial flight as Pilot of a Jet Fighter Plane in Fighter Squadron EIGHT THREE ONE, Air Group FIFTEEN, during operations against enemy aggressor forces in Korea from J7 January to 16 March 1952. Completing twenty missions during this period, Lieutenant Clark carried out daring attacks against enemy transportation facilities, supply centers, gun positions and lines of communication in the face of hostile antiaircraft fire By his skilled airmanship, courage and loyal devotion to duty throughout, he contributed materially to the success achieved by his squadron in the infliction pf extensive damage on the enemy and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service ."
