New Made Item: Well this is actually a 30-year-old Reproduction (Very Few Only). Made in the late 1970?s these are the Classic SAWBACK Pioneer Short Sword issued to Imperial Russian Troops and used extensively in the Crimean War again Britain, France and Turkey in the early 1850?s. Huge heavy blade with massive Saw Teeth this 28" overall Short Sword is fitted with a substantial solid Brass grooved hilt. Blade bears remains of Russian Ordnance Markings complete with original style black leather covered wood Scabbard and Brass Mounts. Principally used by Artillerymen for positioning the muzzle loading Cannon, these look like fearsome weapons. Already 30 plus years old and beginning to show age (see photos), making these a perfect fit in any Antique Collection.
