Original Item: Only One Available. This is something we have not had before, and original German WWII NSDAP Frauenschaft Abzeichen (Women's League Badge), very similar to the general membership badge, but specifically for those in the women's league. The NS-Frauenschaft was originally founded October 1931 as a fusion of several nationalist and NSDAP women's associations, such as the German Women's Order (Deutscher Frauenorden, DFO) which had been founded in 1926. From then on, women were subordinate to the NSDAP Reich leadership. Guida Diehl was its first speaker (Kulturreferentin). The first name it bore appears to have been "Frauenschsaft in der NSDAP", eventually shortened to "NS-Frauenschaft".

We have seen several variations on these badges, which do not look to have been standardized early on, and were later replaced by triangular membership badges that also indicated relative rank and what level of the party they operated at. This type is a 23mm diameter, die struck brass alloy membership badge with multi-colored enamel work. The badge features a translucent red, circular outer border with embossed silvered script, FRAUENSCHAFT i.d.N.S.D.A.P., encompassing a white enamel field with canted black enamel Swas (hook cross).

In very good condition, the original plating is still partly present present, mostly on the reverse, and the front has had the borders mostly worn down to the brass base metal. The enamel is still in great shape, showing wear but no major damage, and overall the badge has a lovely matured look. The back has a very nice functional "safety pin" style attachment, which would work on any type of clothing, and has GES. GESCH. stamped, indicating that it is a protected design.
