Original Item. Only One Available. Coming out of a recently deaccessioned museum, this is an attractive oversized Mk. II Grenade likely made during the late Cold War era, with the spoon painted like an American flag for patriotic display. The grenade was likely made from a resin mold and painted. The fuze has been painted as an M213, although the M213 was designed for the M67 Fragmentation Grenade, so it is incorrect on a Mk. II, although this was likely a mistake by the painter. Due to its design, this piece is Not Available for Export.
The grenade is roughly 29½” tall, and roughly 18” across at the spoon. The spoon has been painted with a red & white stripe below a partial blue canton with 10 white stars, with a “wave” effect painted into the canton to simulate a flying flag. The top of the fuze is marked:

The grenade is in fair condition although there are several spots of damage including heavy scuffing in the paint across the grenade, with a star on the right side of the spoon being broken open with a small hole, possibly how it was once mounted for display. There are several spots of material loss and damage in the body of the grenade, with one spot on the side showing some heavy trauma. It could be cleaned up nicely for display, and the spoon could easily be painted over to give it a more official look.
A very interesting contemporary oversized resin grenade, something to give your collection some real flair. Comes ready for further research and display!
