Item Description
Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. Now this is an interesting piece of field gear. This enormous sized Vietnam War jungle boot is made entirely from the correct materials, with an enormous rubber sole, large steel grommets, heavy rope shoelace, and a canvas pull-up strap. It measures roughly 30” high, with the foot measuring 36 x 12½”. It is a left boot, but we unfortunately don’t know where the right is!
The boot is in great condition overall with some areas of wear, with the rubber being worn down on one side of the “toe box”. The stitching is all very well-retained and there aren’t really any areas of weakness on the boot. We have left the laces as is, but they likely work fine and can be adjusted easily. The entire boot is stuffed with newspaper and foam to help retain its shape, and we have not removed any of it, but it is possible that there are some sort of markings underneath.
This is a really tremendous oversized boot that may have been used for classroom training, to familiarize soldiers with their everyday equipment. A fantastic piece of history, not a model, but just an enormous sized boot! Comes ready for further research and display.
Please note: smaller boot is shown for illustrative purposes only, and is not included.
